Will Your Church Step Outside for Hands Across the Cities?

History will be made on Sunday, October 12, 2008 as churches unite with one voice, one stand and one song for a healing of the

land.  Called “Hands Across the Cities”, this unique stand against violence and for healing was birthed originally as ‘Hands

Across Mountain Blvd’, but the vision was enlarged a few weeks ago to include all of Oakland and is catching on in cities all over

the place. “It’s like wildfire, according to Elder Teirrah McNair, an evangelist at Abundant Life Christian Center Fellowship. So many

churches are already active in outreach and ministry outside the walls of the church. All we had to do was call them out to touch and

agree at the same time on a Sunday morning. The rest is up to God.”

Hands Across the Cities is designed to bring the entire congregation outside for 15 minutes on Sunday, October 12 at 10:30 AM. As people assemble on the sidewalks, the singers will lead folk in singing “Halleluia”. Children will hold up signs and banners made with their own hands. Pastors will then lead folks in a healing prayer based on 2 Chronicles 7:14. At the end of the prayer the people will shout with a voice of triumph and return to the sanctuary. “I can only imagine what the sidewalks will look like on those streets that have several churches joining hands and standing together.”
