Johnson, Jan (1999). Living a Purpose-Full Life : What Happens When You Say Yes to God. WaterBrook Press.
The book asks women to look beyond social roles and career choices, to their passions and gifts as responses to God's designs for them. "What makes a job the 'Lord's work' is the purpose and heart of the person doing it, not the task itself." The author advocates a strong prayer life, deep Bible reading, and participation in a close religious community as tools to lead us into a life of greater trust, integrity, and selflessness and ultimately into a greater sense of our God-given purpose. Johnson closes each chapter with a section of questions to contemplate, an experiment in listening prayer, and some Bible passages to ponder.

McCarthy, Kevin (2001). The On-Purpose Person: Making Your Life Make Sense: A Modern Parable. Pinon Press. A valuable resource for those who feel their lives are meaningless or unfulfilled, with schedules that seem out of control. Presented in an entertaining story format with principles that are clear and easy to apply, the book helps people identify their life purpose and live it out seven days a week.

Warren, Rick (2002). The Purpose-Driven Life: What On Earth Am I Here For. Zondervan. The book's spiritual premise is that there are no accidents - God planned everything and everyone. Therefore, every human has a divine purpose, according to God's master plan. Its message may be summed up like this: "So my fellow Christians, ask not what God can do for your life plan, ask what your life can do for God's plan." This book is not about self-exploration; it is about purposeful devotion to a Christian God set up to be a 40-day immersion plan.
