Please Pray … Now. Prayer Alerts from a 24-Hour Personal News Cycle

7/31 UPDATE

Baby Cyrus’ fever spiked to 104 last night, and Diana woke up feverish this morning. Yesterday, my nephew was also diagnosed with Swine Flu. Thanks for continuing to pray.
______________

From derelict blogcationer to fervent prayer solicitor, news from the last 24-hour personal news cycle reminds me that the faith journey never ends. Please join me in praying for:

1) Youth ministry veteran X, who was rushed into emergency surgery last week to remove a cancerous tumor after sudden and severe stomach pains. The doctors won’t know for another two weeks whether the cancer spread, which will determine future treatment options. X is married with three small children.

2) Youth ministry veterans Y & Z, whose marriage is under severe attack. Foster kids are involved.

3) Baby Isaiah Medrano, who is in the pediatric intensive care unit with complications stemming from a congenital heart defect that required surgery in January. His parents Ramiro and Joy Medrano are friends and youth ministry lifers based in Chicago. Follow his ongoing story here.

4) Baby Giada, who was diagnosed with an MSRA staph infection last week. Her mother was a student in my parents’ youth ministry in the early 80s, and a favorite baby sitter of my brothers and me as kids.

5) The Del Rio clan. On Monday, Diana was diagnosed with a separated shoulder, rib, and bulging disc that have caused excruciating pain; Judah has battled a high fever and headaches since Tuesday; and baby Cyrus has endured a low-grade fever since yesterday. Daddy Jeremy is juggling work and health care.
