Fire or ICE: Being a Community of the Spirit for Immigrants Under Siege
“They’re deporting my congregation!” In a time of frequent Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids, this workshop will provide examples and a space for reflection on the role of the church and church-based organizations in the immigration struggle in the U.S. Informed by immigrants’ personal experiences, learnings that grow out of incarnational ministry, and the study of theology, history, and economics, Neighborhood Ministries in Phoenix and Grace Urban Ministries in San Francisco have been grappling with how to care for their immigrant congregants and neighbors. Come learn their perspectives on how CCDA ministries can embrace the immigrant…and the debate.
