Acceptance

"The Lord has declared today that you are His people, his own special treasure, just as He promised, and that you must obey all His commands." Deuteronomy 26:18 NLT

 

I want you to ponder that verse for just a moment. We belong to God, we are HIS treasure, and we are to obey all that He tells us to do. How much comfort does that bring to you? God takes us as we are, no matter what shape we are in. So often we are not accepted in society until we reach a certain standard, which is often difficult to attain to, if not downright impossible. But God accepts us as is, no warranty needed. It really bugs me that women are especially held to a physical standard while God accepts us as is. But that is beside the point. All we need to remember when we're feeling down is that God accepts us as is, and to be honest, that is the only thing that truly matters.
